COINTELPRO

On this day Mar. 3rd 1968 a COINTELPRO Memo was sent to all FBI field offices. CoIntelPro stands for Counter Intelligence Program launched by J. Edgar Hoover and led to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and no less than 30 members of the Black Panther party. From 1968 through 1971 the Federal Bureau of Investigation terrorized the black community and put on a full court press in an attempt to exterminate all associated with the civil rights movement. J.
